About
Using the uniquely flattering characteristics of analog film and vintage lenses, I combine elements of formal posing, expressive portraiture, and true fashion, to help people see themselves as authentic works of art.
I will work with you from the very first contact to craft a session that will reflect who you are and how you want to be seen. I'll help with choosing location, outfits and props so you can feel confident about the process before we even start, even if you've never been in front of the camera before, or normally hate getting your picture taken!
Your session will be fun, relaxed, and personalized - and you'll never have to wonder what to do! Whether it's your first time doing a portraiture session, or you're a pro in front of the camera, we'll work through poses and movements that work best to capture the authentic you.
Afterwards, we'll sit down together to select your favorite images, as we create lasting art to display in your home and show to friends and family for years to come.

FAQ
Q: Where do you even get film these days?
A: Easily my most asked question! There are actually a ton of places to buy online, and I regularly make a trip to a local North Florida store, the Reformed Film Lab.
Q: Do you develop your film yourself?
A: Yes - I develop and scan my film at home. It gives a lot more flexibility and creative control over how my images look. I also develop film for local photographers who require a personal touch for their images.
Q: I don't like my face/neck/arms/tummy...can you photoshop me to look better?
A: No. My images are authentic and unretouched, but I will edit out temporary skin blemishes like zits. I use light, posing techniques, and camera angles to help my clients look their best - so you can look at our images and proudly say "this is me."
Q: How you help me prepare for the session?
A: We will have at least one phone call to discuss the photoshoot and how you would like to be seen, and we'll go over film choices, location, outfits, props, and anything else you think might be important! We'll stay in touch by email and text, and I'll review outfit options or send on a short session guide, so that on the day you're feeling confident and ready to go. Check out my blog post for some ideas on outfit choices!
Q: I have no idea how to pose in front of the camera - what can you do to help?
A: Worry not - I have years of experience and specific training in photography posing. My style is a mix of directed movement and specific poses, drawing on portraiture and fashion styles that are fun and flattering for any age, gender, or body-type. Even if you've never had a portrait session before, by the end you'll look and feel like a supermodel! (Literally - ask me about my photography education... ;-)
Q: How many images will I get from my session?
A: You can expect to choose from approximately 20-40 images from each hour of photography, depending on the session flow. My goal is for each of those images to be distinct, so you're not sifting through hundreds of similar poses trying to chose the best.
Q: Do you only do portraiture on film?
A: Although I firmly believe that analog photography is ideal for portraits, I have also worked for event and commercial photography clients, and some of that included digital photography. Please contact me for your specific needs and we can talk!
Q: What areas do you cover?
A: I serve Jacksonville, Nocatee, Ponte Vedra and Saint Augustine, FL. Travel further afield can be easily arranged for an additional fee. You can read about some of my favorite places to do sessions at on my blog.
Fun fact: I have a flash for almost every camera I own, but shoot almost exclusively with natural light!
